Critiques

I love the textures in this photograph. I like the way you've captured the hard life that the wall has been through. Another thing...

For A Change It's Been A Busy Week.

Tue Jan 26, 2010, 4:30 PM
  • Mood: Wow!
  • Reading: Vanish - Tess Gerritsen
I've done a fair few miles this week. But I shall start from the start.

All tuesday and wednesday last week I spent a lot of time on Deviantart. Went through thousands of pictures commenting, criticizing and critiquing. And personally to be perfectly honest, didn't realize there was so many fantastic photographers here on Deviantart with little to none page and deviation views! What's up with that? Personally I think it's a crime!! I'll feature one of these photographers at the end of the journal.

Thursday to Sunday we stayed in Sheffield and Chesterfield. What an awesome few days. Me and Becs in mostly our own time (except for my nan with her shouting and waaaay too loud TV. She really should wear her hearing aid) It took us nearly 6 hours to get there. It should only take 3 and a half. But the amount of times we had to stop (Had to remove the towing eye from a breakdown a couple of months ago, had to stop for fuel and realized I had no water so had to fill that up, on the motorway the Oil light came on in the dashboard so had to make a detour to a garage as soon as we could to fill up on oil. we got stuck behind lorries on the way there and we had to stop for food) But for all the times we had to stop, I still enjoyed the journey! On Friday we spent just over 6 hours in Meadowhall Shopping Center. Spent more money than I should have, but what the hell. I was on holiday!! :D Well when we realized we'd just been to one of the biggest shopping centers in the UK, we realized we hadn't spent enough so we went back for a couple of hours on Saturday. Got to love it! Unfortunately we didn't have much time to go out and take photos so I will be going down again in the summer to get some Urban shots. I. Cannot. WAIT!!

And D-day is finally approaching. I'm back to work on friday :( this 3 and a half weeks has gone way too quick. We've had snow, ice, torrential rain, wind and at one point we had sun. Its been an eventless few weeks really except for Sheffield. Just a shame I didn't just put up with the agony in my knees and just gone out to brave the weather to get shots! But ah well. You live and learn. So thats my ranting over for this week. Just want to say a big thank you to everyone who favourited my work and added me to their watch list.

Thank you people, and see you about.

Andrew

:iconandrewcockerill:
hehehe I'll be trying it out tonight!!!! do you have any tips?
:iconrabbitka:
Well first you have to set up the camera to Manual Mode and set the aperture to the lowest number you got... and you can configure the shutter speed regarding the amount of light you'll have... and then be creative =D Try to shoot from different angles... Oh and it helps if you have the cam set to super macro mode, you'll be able to approach the subject pretty close then
